AUSTRALIA DAY 2019

January 26 is a day when we reflect upon what makes us Australian. There is a large multicultural community in Australia and indeed in South Australia. It is important to recognise the important contribution that multiculturalism has played in the Australian identity. Multiculturalism is in Australia’s national interest and speaks to fairness and inclusion. It enhances respect and support for cultural, religious and linguistic diversity. It is about Australia’s shared experience and the composition of neighbourhoods. It acknowledges the benefits and potential that cultural diversity begins.
